The Story of Adam and Eve
God formed Adam from the dust of the ground and breathed life into him. He placed Adam in the Garden of Eden, a beautiful place full of trees, rivers, and food to enjoy.
Seeing that Adam was alone, God made Eve from one of Adam’s ribs. Together they cared for the garden and walked with God. They had everything they needed.
God gave them one clear rule: they could eat from any tree except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But the serpent came to Eve and questioned God’s words, promising that the fruit would make her wise.
Eve took the fruit and ate, and she gave some to Adam, who ate as well. At once their eyes were opened, and they felt ashamed. When they heard God in the garden, they hid among the trees.
God found them and asked what they had done. Consequences followed for the man, the woman, and the serpent. Yet God made them coats of skins to cover them, then sent them out of Eden, which was guarded by a cherubim with a flaming sword.
